ClearBid Research

ClearBid is a UK bid-writing service for housing repair contractors and care providers. ClearBid Research is the name on our guides and data pages: the analysis we do of public contract data, so firms can decide where to bid. We put our name to the method, not to a face.

What we do

We find council, housing association and care tenders that fit a firm, check bids firms have written, and write full quality responses to the buyer's marking scheme, at fixed, published prices. Alongside that we publish what the award data shows about these tenders: how many firms bid, how much of the score is quality, who buys, and when contracts end.

We use AI to read tender packs and to draft and check answers, and we say so. We're appointing experienced UK bid writers; every bid we write or check is reviewed before it reaches you, and nothing is delivered until a reviewer is in place. See how we work.

Where our figures come from

• Find a Tender and Contracts Finder: tender and award notices, from the Open Contracting Partnership's bulk copies and the live Find a Tender service. Our award statistics read 635,916 notices.
• Companies House: the bulk company file, to match winners and see the accounts type they file.
• The CQC and the Care Inspectorate: their public registers, when we check a care provider's registration.
• Legislation and guidance: legislation.gov.uk and GOV.UK, cited with the date we checked them.

All of it is public sector information under the Open Government Licence v3.0. We link to tender documents on the buyer's own site and never re-host them. We never use a client's documents in our published figures.

Latest runs: award statistics 15 October 2026; sector findings (care, damp and mould) 18 October 2026; trade and region pages every night.

How we work them out

• Every figure is computed by code from the notices, with the query, the number of cases and the data window kept beside it. The full method is on our methodology page.
• We show medians and the middle half rather than averages, because a few very large contracts distort an average.
• No figure is shown from fewer than 5 cases. A trade and region page needs at least 20 contracts from 5 buyers since 2019; a buyer page needs at least 5 contracts.
• Contract end dates come from award notices. They are often extended or brought forward, so re-tender dates are estimates and we label them that way.
• Our data pages are generated automatically from these figures and checked by code for sample size, traced numbers and house style before they publish.

The standards we hold ourselves to

• Every number is traced. Each figure on this site comes from our data with its source, from an official source we cite with the date we checked it, or from our own terms and code. A test fails if a page shows a number whose source we haven't recorded.
• Examples are labelled. Sample answers, scores and emails are marked as illustrations, and use fictional firms.
• We never name bidders. Buyers are public bodies and we name them. We never say who else is bidding for a tender, or who our clients are.
• Automated work is labelled. Tender Breakdowns, Bid Radar and our data pages are automated, and say so.
• Corrections. If a figure is wrong, email us and we correct it. Each guide shows the month it was last updated.

What we won't claim

• A win rate. We don't publish one, and won't until enough clients have told us their results to make it honest.
• That we'll win you the contract. Buyers mark price as well as quality, and no one can honestly promise a win.
• Reviews or testimonials we can't stand behind. We'll ask every client the same way, and never in return for a discount.
• Accreditations, certifications or insurance we don't hold.
• Advice on your pricing. We never write or advise on it.
